Familia Martínez Bujanda wines stand out in the Parker List and the Peñín Guide 2020.

The excellence of Familia Martínez Bujanda wines continues to win awards and capture the attention of critics. On this occasion, several of our wines have been highlighted in both the Peñín Guide 2020 and the famous Parker List.
The Peñín Guide is a true benchmark in Spain when it comes to rating wines. This list, which began to be drawn up in the 1980s, is compiled annually on the basis of tastings in which experts award scores to the wines presented.
For the 2020 edition, more than 11,800 wines from all the Appellations and Geographical Indications of Spain have been evaluated. It is very remarkable that in this edition, eight wines of Familia Martinez Bujanda have achieved a rating of “excellent wines”.

Specifically, Finca Valpiedra 2012 and Petra de Valpiedra 2016 scored 93 points; Clavis 2010 and Finca Antigua Moscatel Naturalmente Dulce 2017, 92 points; and Finca Montepedroso Verdejo 2018, Cantos de Valpiedra 2015, Finca Antigua Reserva 2012 and Finca Antigua Syrah 2016, 90 points.

Wines from
Valpiedra Estate

Petra de Valpiedra 2016 (93 points in the Peñín Guide 2020 and 92 points in the Parker List).
Made from 100% Grenache grapes and with minimal human intervention, it employs the technique of over-grafting on old experimental vines and using buds from centenary Grenache vines. This is Finca Valpiedra’s most recent wine.
Finca Valpiedra Reserva 2012 (93 points in the Peñín Guide 2020 and 91 points in the Parker List).
Made with Tempranillo and small contributions of Graciano and Maturana tinta, it is a selection of the best clusters of the estate and its maximum reflection in a bottle.
Cantos de Valpiedra 2015 (90 points in the Peñín Guide 2020 and 90 points in the Parker List).
It is made from the youngest Tempranillo vines on the estate and aged in French and American oak barrels. This red wine pays homage with its name to the soil from which it comes, formed by a blanket of boulders in a meander of the Ebro River as it passes through the estate.

Made entirely from the graciano grape variety and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Viña Bujanda Crianza 2016 (90 points in Parker’s List)
This wine spends 12 months in American and French oak barrels to create a fresh, elegant and very long wine.

Clavis 2010 (92 points in the Peñín Guide)
Made from the Pico Garbanzo plot with its specific clay soil, it is a wine of great expressiveness. Intense aromas of underbrush stand out, with notes of clove, pepper and toast perfectly blended with hints of citrus.
Finca Antigua Moscatel Naturally Sweet Muscatel 2017 (92 points in the Peñín Guide).
It is the first sweet wine produced by Familia Martínez Bujanda using the natural sun-drying technique in raisins until the grapes are dehydrated.
Finca Antigua Reserva 2012 (90 points in Guía Peñín)
Made with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, it is a structured wine with a high aromatic intensity.
Finca Antigua Syrah 2016 (90 points in the Peñín Guide).
It stands out for its aromatic intensity and is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels.

Finca Montepedroso Verdejo 2018 (90 points in the Peñín Guide).
Made exclusively with the Verdejo variety and its indigenous yeasts, it is a fresh and intense wine, with a balanced acidity that combines the characteristics of the authentic and best Verdejos.
