Familia Martínez Bujanda’s wines, internationally renowned

The customers of our wines are our best judges. The opinion that really counts is theirs, since we elaborate them for their tasting and for them, with their consumption, to ratify their satisfaction. However, it is always gratifying to receive positive mentions and reviews.
On this occasion, several international sources have valued our wines in an outstanding way, which of course fills us with pride. And even more so when it comes to a wine expert as acclaimed worldwide as the famous
Tim Atkin
who, in the prestigious list of Rioja wineries that he updates every year, has included excellent scores and comments for the wines of
Finca Valpiedra
and
Viña Bujanda
belonging to Familia Martínez Bujanda.
The continued presence of
Familia Martínez Bujanda
in the accredited ranking of the British “master of wine” highlights the dedication and effort to create Rioja wines of concentration and character.
At Finca Valpiedra, the only winery in La Rioja that belongs to the
Grandes Pagos de España
We make terroir wines in a privileged environment, where its particular microclimate and alluvial soil offer privileged conditions for growing grapes.
Finca Valpiedra wines have achieved excellent scores:
Finca Valpiedra Reserva 2012
95 points, and
Cantos de Valpiedra 2015
, 92 points.
Finca Valpiedra Reserva 2012 is described as a “very Bordeaux-style wine, with light animal notes on the nose. A very fresh and nuanced wine for such a warm vintage”. The acclaimed “master of wine” describes our wine as “elegantly steeped with filigree tannins, with a very tasty black fruit taste, wonderful and long-lasting consistency on the palate”.
As for Cantos de Valpiedra Crianza 2015, he highlights its elegant flavor, detailing it as “floral, elegant and well-balanced”, underlining its “very fine tannins with hints of Gran Vino”.
Viña Bujanda wines have also achieved excellent scores and comments:
Viña Bujanda Gran Reserva 2011
92 points, and
Viña Bujanda Reserva 2013
90 points.
The classic and traditional style is appreciated. Regarding Viña Bujanda Gran Reserva 2011, Tim Atkin points out that “this is an update of the classic style, with sappy acidity, very attractive minerality, red and black fruits accompanied by a freshness and extract of the age of this wine. It also has a very good evolution on the palate”.
As for Viña Bujanda Reserva 2013, he highlights that it is an “attractively evolved and balsamic wine with a soft sweetness and good underlying acidity”.
But it was not only Tim Atkin who recently praised the quality of our wines. The prestigious magazine
Wine Spectator
has catalogued
Viña Bujanda Crianza 2015
with 90 points, highlighting it as one of the 100 best wines in the world and describes it as a “bright and energetic” wine, highlighting its “simple and graceful” taste, with “notes of fresh cherry and red plum mingling with hints of leaves, licorice and vanilla, backed by light tannins and tangerine acidity”.
In addition, in the last edition of the competition
Rioja Masters 2018
organized by the renowned British magazine
The Drinks Business
magazine, one of the most influential publications in the wine industry, our
Finca Valpiedra Reserva 2011
was awarded a bronze medal.
The good reviews serve as an incentive for us to maintain the illusion in our main objective, to achieve wines that are representative of their terroir and with their own personality.
