According to the legislation, “Reserva” wines are those that have been in the cellar for a minimum of three years before being released to the market, at least one of those years being aged in oak barrels. Historically, however, the best wines of a winery were called “Reserva”, regardless of their ageing, which the owner used to keep (reserve) for his own consumption or that of his relatives.
Under this concept, Familia Martínez Bujanda makes a selection of the best wines of each vintage to offer its customers the option of enjoying unique wines. In two of our estates we have created the “Barrel Club” option for all those who want to have a limited edition of a wine of exceptional quality:

Due to the demand of individuals and companies that visited our winery on a regular basis, the idea of creating a Club of friends, wine lovers, arose. This is how this Club was born in 2005, with its first vintage of “excellent” quality 2001. Year after year and only in the best vintages, we select the best of our estate to produce a unique and exclusive wine called Finca Valpiedra Club. A wine made from Tempranillo, Graciano and Maturana grape varieties and aged for a minimum of 2 years in new French oak barrels.
The 2010 vintage, classified as “excellent” by the DOCa Rioja, is currently available for purchase. This vintage is characterized by a balance of average rainfall, great ripening of the grapes and low alcohol content. The result is an elegant wine with a balanced flavor, perfect to accompany red meats, big game dishes and medium cured cheeses.

Created with the exceptional 2004 vintage, it is a selection of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo varieties aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Each year we select 36 barrels for this select club.
The official rating of the 2010 harvest in the La Mancha Denomination of Origin was “very good”. The wine of this vintage is clean and bright, with high aromatic intensity, which stands out for its balsamic and mountain notes, with spicy and aniseed notes provided by the aging in French oak. Its flavor displays great volume and structure, with a long aftertaste.
