Paradores renews Cantos de Valpiedra as “house wine” for third consecutive year

For the third consecutive year, Paradores de España has included Cantos de Valpiedra on its menu as a house wine.

The work of tourism and gastronomic promotion by the hotel chain has once again entrusted Finca Valpiedra.

Each year, a team of sommeliers conduct a tasting in order to select an exceptional wine to be included among the options offered in its network of 97 national paradors.

Cantos de Valpiedra 2016 is a single varietal Tempranillo made from grapes from vines planted on the stony alluvial soils of Finca Valpiedra.

‘La Selección del Sumiller’ within the DOca Rioja menus has opted, this time, for Finca Valpiedra, although it has already opted for Cantos de Valpiedra 2015 and Finca Antigua Viura 2017 on other occasions.

The Finca Montepedroso 2019 Verdejo variety was another of the family jewels chosen by Paradores during the months of July, August and September 2020. Finca Valpiedra was founded in 1999 in Fuenmayor, La Rioja. Located in a meander on the Ebro River, it claims the authentic terroirs through the Asociación Grandes Pagos de España. Their Bordeaux style is reflected in the four wines produced to pay tribute to the Rioja terroir. The atmospheric conditions resulting from a mixture of Atlantic and Mediterranean climates, together with the altitude of the terrain, make the estate a key piece of Familia Martínez Bujanda.
