During the third quarter of the year, the Rueda AO has developed an ambitious promotional plan in the United States to publicize the excellent white wines produced in this area. More than 15 wineries from the appellation, including Finca Montepedroso, have participated in the initiative and have toured and visited cities such as Napa, San Francisco, New York and Miami.
Year after year, Spanish wines cross borders, maintaining a strong progression in international markets where they already sell more than twice the wine consumed within Spain and where they advance in the line of high quality wines. The Rueda appellation of origin, in Valladolid, is no stranger to this progression and this November has headed to the United States to promote the quality of its wines.
In New York and Miami, the Do Rueda participated in the event organized by Wines from Spain, Spain’s Grate Match, an encounter with Spanish wine and gastronomy, which brought together more than 200 Spanish wineries and wines. The first of these meetings was held in New York on September 24 and the second in Miami on November 12, the wines of Rueda had the opportunity to meet with importers, distributors, press, restaurants and sommeliers, as well as a new group of consumers who attended the dinner, which included restaurants such as El Bazaar de José Andrés, Xixon Cafe and other Spanish restaurants with a presence in Miami.
During the week of November 15, the Culinary Institute of America held the XVI edition of the Worlds of Flavor International Conference and Festival.

a major event to promote Rueda wines on the West Coast of the United States. Specifically, in the city of San Francisco, where the most renowned and innovative chefs and sommeliers had the opportunity to taste the best wines of Rueda, during this meeting that lasted 3 days. In addition to the tasting table in the Spanish Pavilion, Rueda sponsored two tasting seminars, one of which was conducted by sommelier Josep Roca, from the World’s Best Restaurant “El Celler de Can Roca”. Entitled “Inside the World’s Top-Rated Restaurant: Wine, Service and Creative Process”, a wine from the Rueda appellation was paired with a dish designed and cooked by Josep Roca and Raúl Sillero.
To complete this tour of the United States, a presentation followed by a free tasting of Rueda wines was held in San Francisco on Monday, November 18, at the prestigious Spanish restaurant Piperade in San Francisco for some 35 professionals from the sector.
