Familia Martínez Bujanda: outstanding in the Peñín Guide 2017.

The Peñín Guide, which, although it retains the ‘brand’ of its founder, José Peñín, has been directed for several years now by winemaker Carlos González, has become the most important and prestigious manual on Spanish wines. Undoubtedly, it is the most consulted guide by professionals and wine enthusiasts. The publishing house has just published the 27th edition of the manual, with a new record number of wines scored, up to 11,500 references and with an outstanding result for Familia Martínez Bujanda wines.
Our two great reds, Finca Valpiedra 2009 and Clavis 2008, received a score of 93 points. Finca Valpiedra 2009 is a red full of honesty with which our technical director, Lauren Rosillo, shows the authentic character of a vineyard as special as Valpiedra, which provides a different expression in each vintage depending on the weather conditions.
Clavis is a plot wine from Finca Antigua. It is made exclusively with grapes from the Pico Garbanzo plot, just four hectares planted on an atypical in the area calcareous clay soil and with a bunch of varieties planted in a disorderly way (grenache, cabernet, pinot noir, mazuelo…). Originality, personality and character.
Another of our most special wines, Finca Antigua Moscatel Naturalmente Dulce 2015, scored 92 points. And we say special because the grapes, also from a single plot, are dried in the sun after being harvested spread out on mats on the ground. The spectacular image is produced every year at the end of August at Finca Antigua.
Finca Antigua 2010 Cycleswhich we now bottle as Finca Antigua Reserva, combines varieties such as merlot, cabernet sauvignon and syrah that our technical team selects each harvest to make this wine that brings together the best of our vineyards and incorporates the best of our vineyards. also among the outstanding wines in the Peñín Guide with 90 points.. The same evaluation is achieved by our white wine from Rueda, Finca Montepedroso 2015, one of the most authentic Verdejo wines, as defined by Luis Gutiérrez.
Special mention should be made of our Infinitus Tempranillo 2015 and Infinitus Syrah, from our winery Cosecheros y Criadores (Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla) which, with excellent quality/price, enter for the first time in the club of outstanding wines of Spain, with 91 and 90 points respectively.
Familia Martínez Bujanda will be present with Finca Valpiedra and Clavis at the XVII Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España (XVII Best Wines of Spain) organized by the Peñín Guide, exclusively for those wines with more than 93 points, on October 27th in Madrid. We invite you all the fans there, but not before reminding you that at Martínez Bujanda Family We believe that ratings, although they serve as a guide, should not be the main reference for choosing a bottle, but that we should be the ones to assess whether a wine, and its price, really meets our expectations.
