Alameda Restaurant in Hondarribia
Traditional Basque cuisine in this restaurant that has been working since 1942 with artisan suppliers from Hondarribia to offer the best of the local gastronomy.
The Txapartegi brothers , Mikel, Kepa and Gorka, owners of the Alameda restaurant in Hondarribia, always had a clear premise when opening their restaurant: maximum respect for the local produce, in order to prepare their dishes with the best local products.
The cuisine of this restaurant combines love and respect for the products of the land with the most innovative and modern cuisine. Recently renovated, the Alameda Restaurant has gained in comfort and intimacy, the customer feels at home, and that helps in the motivation of the restaurant team, which allows them to evolve with the flavors in the dishes and the menu.
Among the dishes recommended by the restaurant are the Hondarribia tuna marinated in citrus fruits with tomato and sprouts smoothie, one of the seasonal dishes, or the Scallop Ravioli, with seasonal mushrooms and wild asparagus.
It has three special menus, prepared with the best products and flavors of each season, with fish and seafood fresh from the sea, or mushrooms and vegetables harvested from the restaurant’s own garden and nearby mountains. Themed menus that can be sampled at the restaurant are the Gartzinea Menubased on the product, which this summer season includes rice with baby squid and beef tenderloin, the Hondarribia Menubased on tradition, where you can taste a paired tuna and suckling lamb, and lastly the Dastamena Menu based on the latest innovations in cuisine, which, this season, includes scallop ravioli, winged pigeon and fresh cheese ice cream.
Highly recommended is also its wine list, a great selection made by Mikel Txapartegi, the winemaker and sommelier of the restaurant, where we find more than 400 references of great wines, which combine not only wines from the area, but also other designations of origin such as Rioja or Rueda, with wines such as Finca Valpiedra or Finca Montepedroso.
