This past weekend, as part of the Rioja and the Five Senses program, which is organized every year by the regional government in order to disseminate wine culture, a thematic tasting turned into a show was held at Finca Valpiedra by the theater group “El Patio”, which performed their play A mano, winner of the award for best small-format show at FETEN 2013.
Under the title “Cata de historias para ver y soñar” (Tasting of stories to see and dream), a thematic tasting was held at Finca Valpiedra this past Sunday, September 8, which included a performance of the play A mano, by the theater group “El Patio”. The event was attended by 150 people distributed in three passes, who were able to enjoy in the bottling room of Finca Valpiedra the winning show of the FETEN 2013 award for best small format show, previously during the visit to the winery they tasted three wines Viña Bujanda Blanco, Cantos de Valpiedra and Finca Valpiedra Reserva.
The Rioja and the Five Senses, held from September 1 to 19, is a program promoted by the Government of La Rioja through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Environment of the Government of La Rioja, which aims to bring the culture of wine to all Riojans and visitors who visit the community during this month of harvest.
With a program full of music, themed tastings, gastronomy, cinema and family activities, El Rioja y los Cinco Sentidos includes, among other activities, the performance of the play El Intérprete, by Asier Etxeandía; concerts by Fito & Fitipaldis and Coque Malla, Anne B. Sweet and a party in La Grajera with Travellin’ Brothers Big Band.
In addition, the activities that have been carried out in previous years will continue, such as the photography contest and exhibition, and the La Rioja Tapas Contest, renewed last year and which will include a final open to the public on September 14 at the Rioja Culture Center.
Wine and wineries play a fundamental role in transmitting the wine culture of the people of La Rioja, and for this reason, in addition to Finca Valpiedra, four other wineries will be offering themed tastings with different shows such as plays or concerts.
