The new vintage of Finca Montepedroso, the 2020, has recently been presented to commemorate the 10th anniversary of this authentic Verdejo.
In 2020, the harvest was exceptional in terms of quality and quantity. In addition, the polyphenolic load will give this wine longevity and life, as will be seen in future vertical tastings in which old vintages never disappoint.
Subsequently, this white wine was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for fermentation and maceration. Finally, and as a sign of distinction of the winery’s wines, it has been aged for five months on the lees. five months aging on lees with weekly stirring. with weekly stirring. This work on the lees allows the Verdejo to express itself beyond its characteristic floral and fruity notes, reaching mineral registers and even empyreumatic touches (smoke, tobacco and derivatives). In addition, this technique achieves greater volume, body, structure and longevity in the wine.
And on the occasion of this tenth anniversaryIn the last few years, the winery has been able to share with different specialists of the sector, among them prestigious journalists and wine critics, and renowned sommeliers, several vertical tastings in which it has been a detailed overview of all vintagesfrom the recently released 2020 to the first one, 2010.
These vertical tastings have shown that in these ten years and with warm, cold and normal vintages there has been no oxidation in the wine and that the aromas have evolved spectacularly. Likewise, the different character of each of them has been clearly appreciated.
In short, it is an experience and a pleasure for the senses to enjoy the evolution that a white wine aged without wood can develop over time. We encourage you to try all the vintages available in our online store.
