Celebrates 125 years dedicated to winemaking, under a premise that has endured since its birth in 1889: the production of quality wines from its own vineyards located in privileged enclaves.
Familia Martínez Bujanda is a family business founded in 1889 by Joaquín Martínez Bujanda, great-grandfather of the now owners of the group, Pilar and Carlos Martínez Bujanda. Their philosophy has always been the production of quality wines from their own vineyards, located in privileged enclaves.
This idea of work was permeated and transferred from generation to generation, from his son Marcelino, his grandson Jesús, to the current owners and great-grandchildren, who have always been clear about the fundamental premise on which to base the legacy left by their great-grandfather and which they have been reflecting in each new project they have undertaken:
always looking for the best areas to produce the best wines.
.
At present, Familia Martínez Bujanda has five wineries located in different appellations of origin. Finca Valpiedra and Viña Bujanda in the DO Ca. Rioja, Finca Antigua in DO La Mancha, Finca Montepedroso D.O. Rueda, and Cosecheros & Criadores, Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla.
During these 125 years of history, Familia Martínez Bujanda wines have positioned themselves as excellent wines in the national and international markets. From its first winery in Oyón to its latest project in Rueda, Finca Montepedroso, which opened its doors in 2012, the group’s portfolio of wines is extensive and aims to satisfy all the needs of its customers.
Among its most renowned wines are its two great Rioja reds, Finca Valpiedra Reserva and Cantos de ValpiedraThe “pago”, a true reflection of the “pago” from which they come; the avant-garde and innovative Finca Antigua, Clavis or Finca Antigua Moscatel cycles from its winery in La Mancha, Finca Antigua, or the purity of a 100% Verdejo wine such as Finca Antigua. Montepedroso Farm in Rueda.
Familia Martínez Bujanda has 646 hectares. of vineyards, although its annual production is far from the figures of the large winemaking groups, which reinforces the philosophy of terroir, of payment, which has always characterized them.
