Spanish essence in Beijing

The Agua de Pekín restaurant celebrates its fifth anniversary and has become a benchmark for Spanish food in China. Elected last year as the best Spanish restaurant with the best wine list in the country, it has received numerous awards that place it at the forefront of the best Spanish cuisine.

Intimate and elegant, the Agua restaurant captures the soul of the most innovative Spanish cuisine. Headed by famed chef Jordi Valles, the restaurant blends vibrant contemporary Spanish cuisine with elegant interiors inspired by the warm colors and textures of Spanish wood. Located in the center of the Chinese capital, Agua is a mecca for lovers of good Spanish cuisine.

Chef Jordi VallesAgua specializes in contemporary Spanish cuisine with Mediterranean influences. The food is full of natural flavors made from aromatic herbs and rich olive oils that together with the freshest products evoke the essence of Spain. Among its star dishes are the crispy suckling pig, prepared in the traditional way, the smoked mackerel with tomato and herbs, accompanied by a fresh salad of black olives and basil, or the veal and pork ravioli with caramelized onion. They also include as dessert, the traditional torrija with Catalan cream and accompanied by perfumed almonds.

As for its wine list, recently recognized as the best in the Chinese capital, it has a selection of the 70 best wines available in Beijing. Wines that have been carefully selected by the restaurant team, designed to stimulate the palate of diners with some of the grape varieties such as Verdejo (Finca Montepedroso) or Tempranillo (Finca Valpiedra, Viña Bujanda Reserva) from Spanish wine regions of great recognition.

Designed by David Yeofounder of the Agua restaurant chain, for the ambiance of this restaurant, the following have been chosen the warm brown textures of Spanish woods, mixed with exotic Moorish touches throughout the restaurant, with colored glass and metal lamps from the souks of Morocco.
