Vielhitos bar: Pinchos and gourmet tapas at the foot of the ski slopes

In the vicinity of the ski resort of Baqueira/Beret, we find this small and cozy tapas and pinchos bar, with a surprising wine list, perfect for a dinner with friends after a tiring ski session.

224872_449106438472159_1121808913_nIn the heart of the Aran Valley, in its capital, Vielha, we come across Vielhitos bar, a surprising and cozy tapas bar in the center of the town, which will delight the most intrepid skiers, who will be able to relax there while having dinner and recharge their batteries after an exhausting day of skiing.

With a good selection of pinchos and montaditos to share, you can start the evening by ordering one of their famous homemade croquettes, with a wide variety of flavors, such as black pudding with apple, truffled chicken and onion, or blu cheese, or opt for the traditional Iberian ham or vegetable croquettes. To continue, the bar offers an extensive menu with portions and dishes to share among which we recommend an assortment of sausages and cheeses, Burgos blood sausage, patatas bravas, or their slates of pates and cheeses. Or you can choose a hearty plate of tripe a la madrileña or their mi- cuit of truffled foie gras.

Although if Vielhitos bar is known for something it is for its magnificent selection of pinchos that you can find at the bar and that vary according to the day and the suggestions of the chef and its rich desserts and cakes, as a culmination to a special dinner.


To accompany such good food and at the same time warm up, there is nothing better than pairing the dinner with one of the wines on the menu. The bar has a well known wine cellar where we find some good Rioja wines such as Finca Valpiedra Reserva from Familia Martínez Bujanda or Viña Bujanda, also from La Rioja.

In short, if you are visiting Baqueira/Beret this Christmas, don’t forget to visit this little corner in Vielha.
