VINE GROWERS AND WINEMAKERS OF LA RIOJA
Familia Martínez Bujanda is one of the historic families of winegrowers and winemakers of La Rioja. Our great-grandfather Joaquín, who was already a winegrower, founded the winery in 1889 and since then, we have also been winemakers. Wine is made in the vineyard and the cultivation of our vineyards makes us responsible from start to finish of our different elaborations in Rioja, Rueda and La Mancha.
For generations we have explored the best terroirs and concentrated the vineyards in estates with their own identity, from which we obtain wines with the personality of the landscape and with the concept that Familia Martínez Bujanda transmits to its elaborations: elegant, subtle and fresh wines, which endure beyond fashions, and which aspire to obtain the best of our different terroirs.
The Martínez Bujanda family believes in effort and daily dedication, which explains why, today, the fourth and fifth generations are still at the head of a project that is more than a century old. This requirement is also shared, year after year, by our vineyards, some of which are located in areas at the limits of cultivation, on hard and stony soils where the plants have to work every season to offer us the best fruit with the identity of each landscape in which they are integrated.
Because, for us, nature rules and, if we have learned anything in these more than 130 years, it is that taking care of it, even pampering it, is the main guarantee for the future of our vineyards and, therefore, of Familia Martínez Bujanda.
